The Challenge
Graduates of the five campuses of the UMass System are leaders and valued contributors to every sector in the state. But ubiquity can often lead to invisibility. The UMass Foundation knew it was time to elevate the story of alumni impact. Our campaign reminded current and prospective donors that their gift to the five campuses would fund creativity, innovation and lifesaving discovery. And by supporting affordable public higher education, donors would also help bring about a future that belonged to everyone.
The Impact
UMass graduates offer the best proof that, in the words of our button, “Your UMass Gift Works.” We made alumni stars of a remarkably successful multichannel campaign and helped the Foundation achieve its strongest fundraising year ever: a record $129.5 million raised collectively by the five campuses, and almost $100 million of that was in cash gifts.
